An Olds youth was drafted during the Western Hockey League (WHL) Bantam Draft in Red Deer May 2.
Avery Trotter, a defenceman, was drafted in the fifth round, 103rd overall, by the Spokane Chiefs.
He stands 6-1 and weighs 163 pounds.
Trotter scored five goals, compiled 16 points and 14 penalty minutes in 32 games with the Red Deer Bantam AAA Rebels this past season.
He got one assist while playing for Team Alberta Black during the Alberta Cup April 24-28 in Red Deer.
