Out-of-town teams dominate Olds men's curling bonspiel

Out-of-towners won all three sides of the Olds Curling Club’s Men’s Bonspiel, held Jan. 28-29 at the Sportsplex. The Travis Phillips rink of Sundre won the A side, downing the Wayne Heikkinen rink; the Kale Levy rink from Red Deer took the B side, defeating the Jeff Miller rink; and the Joey Olson rink of Lacombe won the C side defeating the Larry Flessatti rink.

OLDS — Out-of-towners won all three sides of the Olds Curling Club’s Men’s Bonspiel, held Jan. 28-29 at the Sportsplex. 

However, Olds rinks did battle it out for supremacy in all three of those finals. 

Spokesman Wayne Heikkinen says the Travis Phillips rink of Sundre won the A side, downing the Wayne Heikkinen rink; the Kale Levy rink from Red Deer took the B side, defeating the Jeff Miller rink; and the Joey Olson rink of Lacombe won the C side defeating the Larry Flessatti rink. 

Twelve teams participated.
