The Olds High School Spartans senior boys' basketball team shows lots of potential, but has lots to learn too, according to head coach Kent Lorenz.
There are four returning players from last year's senior team. However, Lorenz notes they were not starters.
"We've got a great group of athletes, improving every day," he says.
He describes the team as "competitive," "very quick," and with "a strong work ethic."
"I feel blessed to work with a great group of dedicated, hard-working athletes," he adds.
As of last Wednesday, the team had won its last two games after previously posting a 2-4 record, so Lorenz is encouraged.
"As the team plays and develops some basketball sense, our record will improve," Lorenz says. "Lots of time is being spent on basketball skills and less on systems so far."
He says the team is working on "shooting, passing, rebounding, pretty much everything."
