OLDS — The Imagine Gymnastics Club (IGC), which operates in Olds and Carstairs, has had a strong few weeks lately.
Five of its athletes -- Emma Krieger, Raina Hays, Carmen Watson, Penelope Symes, Harper Chernesky -- competed in Canadian Competitive Program (CCP) provincial championships.
They brought home two first-place finishes and one third-place result. In addition, they placed fourth in three events, fifth in two and sixth in two others.
In an email, IGC assistant head coach Jen Jardine described that as “our best result yet at CCP provincials.”
The club hosted its Hay City Classic meet March 24-26. About 700 athletes from 25 clubs attended.
That’s nearly double the number who participated last year.
