Strong Summer Games results for local throwing athletes

OLDS — Local throwing athletes did well during the Alberta Summer Games, coach Rachel Andres says.  

Natalie Harrison, representing zone 4, placed second in U16 discus with a personal best throw of 24.05 metres (m). She also finished fourth in shot put with a personal best toss of 9.53 m, and fourth in javelin with a personal best of 20.47 m. 

Abigail Ripco represented Zone 2. She finished fifth in discus with toss of 25.07 m and seventh in U18 javelin with a throw of 25.98 m. 

Jett Rosch also represented Zone 2. He finished in fifth place in discus with a personal best throw of 33.06 m. 

“Overall, a great weekend for my throws athletes,” Andres wrote in an email. 

The Alberta Summer Games were held July 20-23 in Okotoks and Diamond Valley.
