The Olds High School Spartans senior girls' basketball season is over for another year.

It didn't end the way they'd hoped.

"Unfortunately, after a great start to the year the girls' team had a rather disappointing second half of the season," head coach Brad Clapp said.

The team lost two senior leading players to injury — three-point shooter Rochelle Reeve and power post Erin Ross-Campbell.

"This left us quite short-handed and one-dimensional. Our scoring suffered and our performance started to slip," he said.

In the end, the Spartans finished eighth out of nine teams during the South Central Zones during the March 8 weekend.

"The highlight of our year was winning three games at the SAIT early-bird tournament," Clapp said.
