The Olds tykes lacrosse team had an incredible May long weekend.
They went undefeated (3-0) in the round robin of a tournament in Leduc, ending up in the gold medal final against the Calgary Axemen.
That final was a classic.
It went into double overtime, before unfortunately the Axemen won and the Stingers had to settle for the silver medal.
"The kids played an awesome game," says Olds Lacrosse Association vice-president Gina Belcastro.
It was a special experience for two mini-tykes who were brought up for this tournament because the Stingers were short players.
Belcastro is grateful to all those who helped make the Stingers' participation in the tournament such a success, including coach Roy Frank, assistant coaches Grey Thompson and Mark Manning, as well as manager Tasha Young, parents and tournament organizers.
