MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY – The Bergen 4-H Club members experienced on Saturday, Feb. 1 an increase in heart rates, overall muscle tension, quivering voices and sweaty palms as they overcame their fears and learned to do by doing.
Senior, intermediate and junior members spent hours preparing and practising to present their speech or presentation in front of a panel of judges, fellow 4-H club members, family and friends.
Our club is so incredibly grateful for such an amazing community to support these kids and build them up in their public speaking skills.
We want to especially thank a few people who we couldn’t have done the day without. To all our junior, intermediate and senior judges who took time to hear as well as encourage our kids and to our emcee Lacey Blouin who is the 2025 Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queen.
Thank you so much to all the volunteers who participated in organizing this event from behind the scenes to set up, helping with lunch and clean up. The day wouldn’t have happened without each one of you!
We would like to congratulate our winners from the day and who will be moving onto the next level of competition on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Bergen Church, starting with our Cleaver Kids members Stran Coleman, Leo Murphy, Pearl Murphy and Scotty-Jo Steuer.
