MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - A portion of Mountain View County was one of a handful of places in Alberta where a snowfall warning was enacted Monday morning.

In a 9: 10 a.m. March 3 weather alert update, Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a snowfall warning for portions of Mountain View County, Municipal District (MD) of Bighorn and Clearwater County.

Total snowfall amounts near 10 centimetres are likely by this afternoon for the affected areas, the federal agency said, adding the snow event will end by this evening.

“Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions,” the warning said.

Areas included in the snowfall warning are:

• Mountain View County near Cremona, Water Valley and Sundre;

• Clearwater County near Ya Ha Tinda Ranch and Nordegg; and

• MD of Bighorn near Ghost River Wilderness.
