MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY – Travel on Highway 2 southeast and northeast of Carstairs was impacted by several collisions Wednesday morning after a heavy snowfall.

At 9:35 a.m. April 2 the province’s travel advisory service, 511 Alberta, noted that a third jackknifed semi had been cleared from Highway 2 between Highway 2A and Highway 581, the turnoff to Carstairs.

At 8:54 a.m. it noted that a jackknifed semi was affecting both directions of travel on the highway.

Earlier in the morning, crews had cleared a previous jackknifed semi at 7:35 a.m. on Highway 2 south of Highway 581.

And before that at 6:54 a.m., the travel advisory service noted a "spun out semi" that had been blocking one southbound lane of traffic on Highway 2 after Township Road 310 northeast of Carstairs since about 5:30 a.m. had been cleared.
