MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - Mountain View County council has approved a new permanent inter-municipal collaboration framework master agreement (ICF) with Red Deer County.

The move came by way of motion at the Dec. 11 regularly scheduled council meeting, held in person and online.

Under the agreement, both Mountain View County and Red Deer County will create an inter-municipal collaboration committee, made up of three councillors from each municipality.

The committee will meet as required to develop recommendations to the respective councils on all matters of strategic direction and cooperation affecting both Red Deer and Mountain View county residents, except matters where other current operating structures and mechanisms are operating.

The topics to be discussed as it relates to the ICF include review of framework service agreements, any new service agreements that should be included within the framework, and any amendments that may be required to existing framework service agreements.

“When considering additional service agreements between the municipalities, consideration should be given that user fees be the same for the same services for residents of either municipality.”
