MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - Mountain View County officials are reminding residents that an additional three per cent penalty will be applied to all outstanding property tax balances on Sunday, March 16.
“Residents are encouraged to submit payments on time to avoid penalties,” the county noted on its website.
Property taxes for 2024 were due on Sept. 16. Penalties for unpaid taxes started on Sept. 17 at four per cent. The second three per cent penalty applied Jan. 16.
A fourth tax penalty deadline occurs June 16 when an additional two per cent penalty applies.
The county offers a tax instalment payment plan (TIPP), allowing property owners to pay taxes in 12 monthly instalments from January to December with no extra fees.
