Mountain View County's reeve plans to seek re-election

Councillors Dwayne Fulton, Jennifer Lutz, Greg Harris and Tiffany Nixon have all also announced plans to seek re-election in October

MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - Reeve Angela Aalbers has joined five of her fellow councillors in announcing plans to seek another term in the October 2025 municipal election.

The nomination period for the October vote opened on Jan. 1 and continues until Sept. 22.

First elected in October 2013, Aalbers was re-elected in 2017 and 2021. She have been elected reeve by her fellow councillors for four straight one-year terms.

“Consistency in our policies is very important, so that people and businesses can have stability and can focus on long-term planning,” Aalbers told the Albertan. “Maintaining great relationships with our urban partners and rural neighbours has been very rewarding and allows us to deliver great services to our ratepayers.  

“I will always be committed to working through the issues that are important to the residents, agriculture producers and businesses of Mountain View County. It is such an honour to represent the great people of Division 5 and the county.”

Councillors Dwayne Fulton, Jennifer Lutz, Greg Harris and Tiffany Nixon have all also announced plans to seek re-election in October.

Division 6 Coun. Peggy Johnson and Division 3 Coun. Allan Miller have both told the Albertan they are yet to decide whether to seek re-election.
