MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - An Alberta Emergency Alert issued Tuesday morning for everyone within 25 kilometres of Sundre was cancelled minutes after it was issued.
Mountain View County had advised that the Winchell Lake water treatment plant south of Water Valley was turning off the potable water system on Tuesday, February 25 at 8 a.m.
“Residents will lose pressure in the potable water system,” the 8:57 a.m. alert said.
Service, it said, should be restored by 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
At 9:11 a.m., the Alberta Emergency Alert was cancelled.

The alert urged those affected to refrain from opening up taps for non-essential use. Once the system is restored, it advised running water taps to flush the system. There may be air trapped in some lines so there may be some spurting, the alert said.
