BUENOS AIRES — Canada defeated Brazil by 29 runs Sunday to set up a showdown with the U.S. in its final match Monday at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Americas Region Qualifier.

The Canadian women improved to 4-1-0 atop the four-team tournament that will send one side on to represent the region in the final stage of qualification, the 10-team ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2026.

The U.S. was second in the standings at 3-1-0, going into a game later Sunday against Argentina (1-3-0).

Canada won the toss and elected to bat, finishing all out at 82 in 19.2 overs at the St. Albans Club. Captain Amarpal Kaur led Canada with 25 runs while Indomatie Goordial-John, named player of the match, added 24.

Brazil (1-4-0) finished at 53 for eight in its 20 overs with Monnike Machado, at 12, the only Brazil batsman to reach double figures. Goordial-John and Terisha Lavia each took two wickets for Canada.

Canada defeated the U.S. by nine runs in its opening match Monday before being edged out by one run by host Argentina on Tuesday. The Canadians bounced back by defeating Brazil by seven wickets on Thursday and Argentina by 36 runs Friday.
