QMJHL Roundup: Sea Dogs offence comes alive for 9-4 win over Wildcats

SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Cam MacDonald had a hat trick, and defenceman Charlie DesRoches added two goals and two assists as the Saint John Sea Dogs topped the Moncton Wildcats 9-4 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Nicholas Girouard also had a pair of goals while Charles Savoie scored once and set up three more for the Sea Dogs (4-5-4). 

Liam Leonard rounded out the offence with a goal and an assist, and Brady Burns chipped in with three assists.

Yoan Loshing, Owen Stammer, Charles-Antoine Pilote and Alexis Daniel scored for the Wildcats (5-7-0), who are on a three-game slide.

Noah Patenaude made 23 saves for Saint John as Dakota Lund-Cornish stopped 34-of-43 shots for Moncton.

TITAN 7 MOOSEHEADS 6 (SO)

BATHURST, N.B. — Mathieu Desgagnes had three goals and an assist in regulation, and another goal in the shootout, and the Titan (8-3-2) halted a four-game skid by holding on to edge Halifax (5-5-3), which forced overtime with two goals in the final three minutes of the third period.

CHARLOTTETOWN —  Defenceman William Trudeau had a pair of goals and Sam Oliver tacked on three assists as the Islanders (10-2-0) easily stopped Cape Breton (6-7-0) from earning a third straight victory.

FOREURS 5 HUSKIES 4 (OT)

VAL-D'OR, Que. — Jacob Gaucher scored at 18:47 of the third to force extra time and Justin Ducharme potted his second goal of the night for the winner, lifting the Foreurs (5-1-2) over Rouyn-Noranda (3-4-2) for their fourth win in a row.
