WHL Roundup: Wetsch has two goals and one assist, Hitmen beat Raiders 8-5

CALGARY — Carson Wetsch had two goals and one assist to lead the Calgary Hitmen to an 8-5 win over the Prince Albert Raiders on Wednesday in the Western Hockey League.

Connor Hvidston scored twice while Oliver Tulk produced one goal and three assists for Calgary (17-9-4).

Kalem Parker, Maxim Muranov and David Adaszynski also found the back of the net and Hitmen goaltender Eric Tu kicked out 18 of 23 shots.

Harrison Lodewyk, Riley Boychuk, Ty Meunier, Justice Christensen and Tomas Mrsic replied for Prince Albert (15-11-3). Raiders goaltender Dimitri Fortin saved 36 of 42 shots.

The Hitmen took 2-0 and 4-2 leads, but the Raiders rallied back both times.

With the game tied at 4, Wetsch and Tulk scored in the third period and Calgary hung on to the lead the rest of the game.
