1948 – 2022
Barbara Babiak passed away with her family by her side, January 21, 2022, in Olds, Alberta.
Barb was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who leaves behind her husband of 53 years; Steve Babiak of Olds; her son Aaron Babiak (Christine); and daughter Amy McMahon (Brody); along with her four grandchildren Kylie and Carter Babiak and Reid and Raina McMahon.
Barb was born and raised in Carlyle SK then later moved to Calgary where her and Steve started their family together. They moved to Olds in 1980 where they resided ever since. Barb had a successful career as Executive Director of the Olds & District Chamber of Commerce for over twenty years. She was well known in the community for her work with the Chamber.
Although she truly enjoyed her work, her family brought her the most joy and were always her number one. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother. Anyone who knew her knew she enjoyed every minute spent with her grandchildren. Her family and friends will always remember her for her positive outlook on life, her adventurous and fun spirit, and her strength.
She will be lovingly missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Olds Palliative Care. At Barb’s request there will be no funeral service. West View Funeral Services, Olds, entrusted with arrangements. 403-556-6576
