It is with deep sadness that the family announce the passing of Margaret Jean Betton at the age 79. She battled courageously against cancer but passed peacefully. We are grateful for her love as a wife, mother and sister. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred and daughter, Heather.
She is survived by her sister Irene Young, her brothers; Jack Richey, Alan (Gladys) Richey, daughters; Donna (Curt) Smith, Kathleen (Chris) Power and son, Bill (Sandie) Betton. Grandchildren; Kyle, Brayden, Allandra, Aaron, Braidon, Matthew, Ashley and Ryan.
Margaret was born in Innisfail, Alberta and spent her childhood in Olds, Alberta. In 1959 she received her Registered Nursing Assistant certificate. She met Fred, the love of her life and they married in 1960 and raised 4 children. The family moved to Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta in 1969 to operate a sporting goods store.
We will miss Margaret but know she is in peace with Fred and Heather.
Cremation has taken place. Due to the COVID restrictions a small invite only service will be held. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be given to the Alberta Cancer Society.
