With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Albert Bigelow, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on March 11, 1950, to Herbert and Freda Bigelow, Joe lived a life defined by kindness, hard work, and deep devotion to family and community. He passed away on March 13, 2025, at the age of 75.
Joe is survived by his wife, Margurite, his three siblings, Mary, Betty, and Bob (Csaba), his children, Jennifer (Damon), Kathryn (Sean), and Matthew (Alexis), stepchildren Lori (Jim), Tara (Rob), and Justin (Kelly) and his cherished grandchildren (Kayala, Hudson, Olivia, Naomi, Alexis, Xavier, Isaiah, Beckham and Severine), nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his parents Herbert and Freda and his brother in-laws Victor and Richard.
A man of few words but deep wisdom, Joe let his actions speak for him. He was known for his generous spirit, always offering a helping hand and a warm smile. As a lifelong farmer on the Bigelow family homestead and the founder of Bigelow Mechanical, he was a hardworking entrepreneur who took great pride in his work. But above all, his greatest passion was his family—his love for them was boundless, and his presence was a source of strength and comfort.
Joe’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering love will live on.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at an open house on Saturday, April 19th, from 1-5 PM at the Wimborne Community Hall. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a truly remarkable man.
