Wilfred Boese passed away peacefully in Olds, Alberta on February 4, 2024 at the age of 91. He was a kind-hearted, patient, gentle soul who will be missed deeply.
Wilf was born in Swalwell, Alberta to Noah and Annie Boese, the third child of 7 children. In June 1955, he married Shirley Richardson, the love of his life. They raised their 6 children in the house they built in Bowden. He was so proud of every addition to the family that came along and loved everyone dearly. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and papa.
Wilf loved a good card game, his opponents needed to be on their toes. He loved sports and followed hockey, curling and baseball. He really enjoyed attending the grandchildren’s sporting events and 4H cattle shows. Shirley and Wilfred loved to travel which included cruises, touring around in their motorhome, or exploring new places. They made many beautiful memories together, making friends wherever he went.
Wilfred is survived by his loving wife, Shirley. His children and their spouses; Brenda (Matthew) Potts, Ken (Linda) Boese, Gail (Wayne) Green, Cathy (Rob) Spicer, Gloria (Lorn) Anderson, Debbie (Kieran) Doetzel. His grandchildren; Meaghan (Amelia) Potts, Emily (Keillan) Potts, Colin (Renee) Boese, Kristy (Adam) Stamp, Jenyse (Dennis) Perry, Travis (Melissa) Green, Jillian Green,
Kevin (Rachel) Spicer, Bonnie (Kent) MacArthur, Carmen (Mike) Badura, Crystal (Travis) Fisk, Kodie Doetzel. His great-grandchildren; Elle & Ida Boese, Jack & Summer Stamp, Keira, Colby & Vanessa Perry, Kaylee & Bow Green, Hanna MacArthur and Blake Fisk. His sister, Peggy Reddekopp, brother, Donald (Katherine) Boese and brother-in-law, Frank (Bonnie) Richardson. He was predeceased by his parents, one sister, Janet and 3 brothers Stan, Glen and Clayton.
A Memorial service was held at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Bowden Patterson Hall, 2101 27 Ave, Bowden, AB.
