1932 - 2024

It is with deep sorrow and love that we mourn the passing of William Harold Boger of Sundre Alberta on November 25, 2024, at the age of 92. He passed away peacefully at the Myron Thompson Health Centre in Sundre.

Bill was born in a trapper's cabin near Hillsport in northern Ontario to Elvin and Eva Boger on January 31, 1932. After his birth, his parents moved to Broadview, Saskatchewan where he and his 6 siblings were raised. He worked for the railway and then moved to Sundre in 1957 where he settled and worked with Home Oil for 30 years in pipeline management.

He raised 3 sons Paul, Cody and Scott with his first wife, Shirley Gochee. After his marriage to Shirley ended Bill met his loving companion, Ruby Bartholow. After his retirement in 1990, he and Ruby spent a number of winters in Yuma, Arizona with close friends. His favourite pastimes included camping, playing cards, fishing and golf which he continued to play years after his retirement until he was in his 80’s. He also loved to watch the rodeo - especially the bull riding!

Bill was predeceased by his parents Elvin and Eva, sisters Erma (Floyd) Brown, Anna (Steve) Bakay, Greta (Wayne) Larter, his first wife Shirley Gochee and his longtime companion of 32 years Ruby Bartholow.

He is survived by his 3 sons Paul (Dorie), Cody (Janet) and Scott (Deb) along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also will be sadly missed by his sisters Doreen (Art) Nordquist, Lee Ann (Jim) Moulding, brother Don and brother-in-law Wayne Larter.
