1933 - 2022
Mr. Earl Leroy Carr passed away, with his family by his side, on Friday, July 22, 2022 at the age of 89 years.
Earl was born in Innisfail, Alberta on Friday, February 10, 1933, to Roy and Bertha Carr. Earl’s childhood was spent on the farm with his older brothers, Gerry and Jack. He attended the Gramston School, until completing Grade 9. Upon completion of his schooling, Earl took his first job off the farm driving Cats for the County. From there, Earl went on to work at many other occupations, until marrying Karen.
At this time, Earl settled back to the farm full time. He and Jack, along with his two nephews, Lorne and Kevin, worked hard to expand the farm that his father Roy had established. Earl and Karen raised their two daughters, Susan and Michelle on the farm. Earl’s proudest moment was when Carr Farms received the Innisfail and District Chamber of Commerce “Farm Family of the Year” Award in 2006.
Earl reluctantly took a step back from farming at the age of 87 years.
Earl will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-nine years, Karen, his daughters, Susan (Troy) and Michelle (Randy), his grandchildren, Katelyn (Dillon), Danielle (Ky), Lane (Ashton), Cole, Shay (Shane), Milaney and Joshua, and his six great grandchildren, Emerson, Deelia, Westin, Payson, Hank and Harvey. He will also be sadly missed by his nephews, Lorne (Helen, Samantha, Savannah), Kevin (Tracy), Jacalyn (Rod) and son, Greg (Heather and family), sister-in-law Renee and her family, Debbie (Bill), Ian (Tammy) and their families.
Earl was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Bertha, a daughter, Diane and his two brothers, Jack and Gerry.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Innisfail Alliance Church, 4804 – 42 Avenue, Innisfail, Alberta on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Andrew Rilling Officiating. If desired, in lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Earl’s honor may be made directly to the Innisfail Alliance Church, 4804 – 42 Avenue, Innisfail, Alberta, T4G 1V2 or to a Charity of the Donor’s choice.
