Rita passed away peacefully with her family at her side on January 26, 2024 at the age of 70 years.
Rita was born on April 21, 1953 to Robert and Lillian Wood. She grew up in Innisfail with her three sisters. Rita met the love of her life Les Charlton who lived nearby in Bowden. They were married August 8, 1970 and lived in Calgary until moving to the farm near Bowden in 1980. They had two children Gary and Lorna raising their family on the farm.
Rita enjoyed camping and seeing her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up.
Rita is survived by her loving husband, Les Charlton, son Gary (Janette) Charlton, daughter Lorna (Marlowe) Penner. Grandchildren- Devon (Brittaney) Torrie, Courtney Charlton and Connor Charlton. Great grandchildren – Deegan & Beau Torrie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Olds Hospital & Care Centre. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, January 31,2024 at 2:00 at the Cottonwood Hall. West View Funeral Services, Olds, entrusted with arrangements. 403-556-6576
