It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Coppens on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the age of 74 years with her family by her side.
Mary was born on July 1, 1947 in Hillegom, Netherlands to Geradus and Anna DeGroot. She came to Canada in 1954 shortly thereafter she met Adrian Coppens. Adrian and Mary were married in 1964. Mary worked alongside Adrian when they owned and operated Rae’s Bakery in Didsbury for 10 years.
She is survived by her sons Rob (Tammy) and Paul (Kirsty); grandchildren Lindsay, Cody, Will (Christina); 2 great grandchildren; sisters Hanny (Lyle) and Fran (Gordie); and brother-in-law Ted.
Mary is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Adrian, her parents, Geradus and Anna, and her sister Inaka. In keeping with Mary’s wishes there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Dulcina Hospice in Calgary.
