Geoffrey “Wayne” Cruikshank, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2021 at the Olds Hospital at the age of 73.
Wayne was born in Calgary at the General Hospital on Thanksgiving morning, October 13, 1947 to Jack Lindsey Cruikshank and Lillian Ruth Thurn (Cruikshank). No matter what, you could always call Wayne to help out and he was never bothered at all. If there was something he could do to help a friend or make someone happy, he couldn’t say no. He had a great sense of humor and was always a lot of fun. Even when he was unwell, he would crack jokes with the nurses.
Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his wife Phyllis Cruikshank of 25 years; daughters, Nadene (Cameron) Kryway of Calgary and Lisa Jocson (Rick) of Calgary; six grandchildren, Ava, Ainsley, Tyson, Georgia, Jude and Luke; siblings Celia (Randy) Gaudet, Jacqueline (Gary) Latimer and Jim (Cecile) Cruikshank as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents Jack and Lillian Cruikshank. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
