1927 – 2022
Mrs. Anne Cummins of Innisfail, Alberta passed away peacefully at her residence, with her family by her side, on Tuesday morning, February 15, 2022 at the age of 94 years.
Anne was born on October 5, 1927 to father, Albert and mother, Viola (Holmes) Norn of Olds, Alberta. Orphaned at a very young age, she and her three sisters were adopted by different families in the County of Mountain View. Anne was adopted by the Haldane family; she attended High School in Olds, Alberta. Anne married Norman Raymond Cummins on February 15, 1947 and raised a family of four children. They began their life in a one room house on the Cummins Homestead in Spruce Coulee, and then moved to a farm in May City, Alberta; later followed by the Towns of Olds and Sundre, Alberta. Anne eventually moved to Sunset Manor in Innisfail. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a Teacher’s Aide. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, telling stories and spending time with her family and friends. One of Anne’s favourite things to do was to travel the country roads with Norman, visiting their many friends and family. She will be forever remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
Anne passed on the day that would have marked Norman and Anne’s
75th Golden Wedding Anniversary; she knew she had a date to keep!
Anne will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Brenda (Sam) and Sharon, her son, James ‘Jim’ (Janice), her ten grandchildren, her seven great grandchildren and her five great great grandchildren; as well as countless nieces and nephews.
Anne was predeceased by her husband, Norman, her son, Keith and her three sisters, Clara DeGruchy, Alberta Roper and Edith Seal. A Celebration of Life will take place in the spring and the details will be shared in the upcoming weeks.
