Elizabeth (Betty) May Dole of Olds, Alberta passed away December 20, 2022 at the age of 82.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Danny of 56 years, children Darcy, Deeadra (Todd), Kelly (Teresa) and grandchildren, Mathew, Abagael, Hunter and Ella.
Betty was born and raised in Vegreville, Alberta. In 1966, Betty left her job with the US Consulate in Calgary to marry Danny and move to the Allingham area where they farmed together until 2015 when they retired from farm life and moved to Olds.
Betty lived life to the fullest with her garden, crafts, family and friends. She was an avid vegetable and flower gardener while on the farm. Her many skills included cooking, baking, knitting, sewing, quilting and card-making. Her biggest joy was watching her grandchildren pursue their hockey and softball. She enjoyed their many trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic and finally settling into snowbird life in Yuma, AZ from 2005 to 2015 where she made many friends.
Betty is survived by her sisters Lorraine (Alfred) Hansen, and Evelyn Robert, sister-in laws Anne (Martin) Machacek and Carol Weber and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 7th at 2 pm at Knox United Church in Three Hills. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to STARS or the charity of one’s choice.
