1936 – 2023
Our family is deeply saddened by the loss of our Mom, Grandma and Great Grandmother, Marjorie Donnelly, at the age of 87 years.
Mom was born in Montreal, Quebec on March 22, 1936 to Harold and Doris Over. She had one younger brother, Ronald Over. Mom married our Dad, John Donnelly in 1952 and they were blessed with five children. They operated the family dairy farm in Dad’s hometown area of Huntingdon, Quebec. Mom being a girl from the city, adapted quite quickly to farm life. She absolutely loved her cows and baby calves which she spoke of quite frequently over the years.
Mom and Dad made the big move to Alberta in 1979 and settled in Innisfail, Alberta. Mom worked for Innisfail Home Care for many years in and around the Innisfail area. She enjoyed bowling in the Innisfail Senior Bowling league for many years and has numerous trophies to show for it. Mom was an avid Hockey fan in the winter – Go Oilers Go. Baseball in the summer months – Toronto Blue Jays, she also thoroughly enjoyed Curling and pretty much any other sport other than Football.
Mom’s favorite pastime was definitely spending time with her family and friends. We would like to thank Sunset Manor and staff for their exceptional care that was given to Mom, as she often expressed how well she was cared for. Mom’s gentle, kindness and giving heart will be deeply missed by many. Marjorie will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Kevin (Gail) Donnelly of Kevisville, Alberta, Robert (Armande) Donnelly of St Jean, Quebec, her daughters, Marilyn (Patrick) Donnelly of Spruce View, Alberta, Elaine (Marcel) Chevrier of Huntington, Quebec and Joanne (Justice) Temoshawski of Innisfail, Alberta. She will also be lovingly remembered by her thirteen Grandchildren and her fifteen Great Grandchildren.
Marjorie is predeceased by her husband, John Donnelly, her brother, Ronald Over and her parents Harold and Doris (nee Ellingham) Over.
A Drop In Celebration of Marjorie’s life will be held at the Heartland Funeral Services Reception, 4415 49 Street, Innisfail, Alberta on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
