1947 – 2023
Mr. Pat Donnelly of Spruce View, Alberta passed away on August 5, 2023 at the age of 75 years. Pat passed away unexpectedly while camping with friends and family in the beautiful Rocky Mountains doing what he loved to do with lifelong friends.
Pat was born in Huntingdon, PQ in a large family of eight brothers and two sisters. He was an active son who participated in sports and the family dairy farm. As he grew older, his interests varied around muscle cars until meeting his future spouse, Marilyn. Their love affair blossomed throughout their next fifty-five years together, having two children, James and Tammy.
In 1979, Pat and family moved from PQ to Spruce View, Alberta where they have been active community members since. Pat has coached hockey, built halls, served on Boards and always been ready to help neighbors. For much of the time, Pat proudly worked for Gulf Canada and Conoco Phillips. He had a distinct love for nature and was an avid outdoorsman who camped, angled, hunted and supported multiple Conservation organizations, including Fish and Game Association and Ducks Unlimited. Pat was a kind man that had a friendly smile and a good word to all he met. His enormous positivity and cheer will be sorely missed by family friends and the Community. Pat’s spirit will continue through his children and grandsons.
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the Palm of His Hand.
Pat will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife, Marilyn, his son, James (Jennifer) Donnelly and their children, Lucien, Logan, and Patrick, his daughter Tammy (Joe) Campbell and their children, Spencer (Natalie), Stephan, Ethan, Corbin (LindaVera).
A Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held at the Spruce View Community Hall, Spruce View, Alberta on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. A private interment will be held at the Raven Cemetery at a later date.
