Ella Felker of Calgary, AB, passed away at the AgeCare Skypointe Hospice, Calgary, AB on October 26, 2022 at the age of 89 years.
She was the loving mother of: Larry Felker (Jackie Felker) of Carstairs, AB, Terry Felker of James River, AB, Shirley Felker-Dunbar (Robert Dunbar) of Rocky View County, AB, Rose Ann Chemelli (Ray Chemelli) of Sundre, AB, Berry Felker of Sceptre, Sask., Mary Ann Meme (Garet Lik) of Sundre, AB. She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her companion, Clifford Quinlan, her granddaughter, Danielle Hall, as well as her three sisters and her brother.
Ella grew up on her family’s farm near Huxley, Alberta and then became a farmer’s wife, living near Westward Ho, Alberta for 16 years until she moved her family to Calgary. Ella could never sit still and was always baking, cooking or cleaning or running after her kids and grandkids.
Ella was a strong, hardworking and independent woman and was great example to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ella cooked Christmas and Easter suppers for her family into her mid-eighties, with usually 20 to 30 loud and hungry mouths to feed. She also mowed her own lawn and shovelled her own sidewalks until her early eighties.
