1957 to 2022
It is with great sadness that the Gunderson family announces the passing of Rita Gunderson at the age of 64 in Bowden, Alberta. She is lovingly remembered by her husband – Tom, brothers – John and Martin, sister – Thelma, sons – Erik and Colt, daughters-in-law – Ashleigh and Kayla and grandson – Jordan.
Rita is pre-deceased by her parents – Frederika and Arend Hein and daughter – Heather.
Rita was born in Brockville, Ont. in 1957 and raised on the family farm in Mallorytown, Ont. Her career as a Registered Nurse took her from Ontario to Alberta where she met her husband, Tom. Their family of three children and one grandson was her greatest pride and joy. She loved to help people and would drop everything to be there for you. Her uncanny ability to be positive and optimistic was uplifting to those around her. She will be forever missed.
A funeral service will be held at Hope Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene on Thursday, February 17 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rita’s name to Ronald McDonald House Charitie.s
