Peacefully entered into rest at the Sundre Hospital on August 17, 2021 at 60 years of age.

Gail was born in Stettler on August 29, 1960. Her family moved around with her father’s job until finally settling in Sundre and putting down roots. Gail attended Sundre High School where she would meet many lifelong friends and the love of her life and future husband, Bruce Johnson.

Bruce and Gail were married on July 14, 1979 in Sundre. They have three children together Jennifer, Cody and Stacy. They recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary this past July. Gail had an entrepreneurial spirit. While raising a family she bred and showed champion cocker spaniels and won many ribbons and trophies. Gail and her sister-in-law Shawna Lambertus opened a successful clothing store “Next Time Around” for a few years which she really enjoyed. Gail and Bruce enjoyed travelling through the USA. They bought a home in Indio, California where they would spend each winter.

Gail has six grandchildren that held a very special place in her heart. She was a hands-on grandma who enjoyed spending time with them whenever she could. She was very close with her brother, Darcey Conway who will deeply miss her. Gail was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Johnson; daughters Jennifer Johnson, Stacy (Nathan) Biccum; son Cody Johnson; grandchildren Colby & Collin Morrison, Thomas & Tristan Johnson, Talayla & Tellena Biccum; brother Darcey Conway; mother-in-law Darlene Caudle; sisters-in-law Shawna (Rob) Lambertus, Bev (Lloyd) Bergeson; brothers-in-law Wade (Val) Johnson, Dallas (Stephanie) Johnson, Justin (Diana) Johnson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

  A private family service was held at the Sundre Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.  Heartland Funeral Services Ltd., Sundre entrusted with arrangements. 403-638-4393  Condolences may be made or viewed at www.heartlandfuneralservices.com
