Lloyd Charles Kenyon passed away suddenly, in the evening of July 31, 2022, at the age of 88 years old surrounded by family.
Born to his parents Leo and Ida Kenyon, in Elm Creek, Manitoba, he moved to Calgary when he was 21 years old. Lloyd worked for Union Milk and then later at Prudential Steel Union 7226 until his retirement. While at Prudential Steel, Lloyd was an active part of the social committee - organizing the annual summer BBQ's and kids’ Christmas parties, ensuring staff were always recognized for their hard work.
When he wasn't working, Lloyd enjoyed volunteering and donating his time to his community. He enjoyed being outdoors and would volunteer for Scouts Canada when his children were small, where his love for nature continued even after retirement. Lloyd spent many hours camping, in his vegetable garden at the family lot, travelling to Grand Beach, Manitoba or taking trips to Alaska with his wife Shirley. He also enjoyed spending time in Shuswap, Fairmont, or Kelowna with family and friends.
You could find him driving for the Didsbury Lions and was active at the Old's Legion. He also enjoyed running the crib clubs for many years.
Lloyd will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Shirley; children Andrew (Karen) Kenyon, Colleen Pontes, Charles (Nancy) Kenyon, Dave (Tracy) Graham, and Sue (Darcy) Benson; and numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his parents Leo and Ida Kenyon, late wife Anne Kenyon, son Mark Kenyon and son-in-law Dominique Pontes. Lloyd was greatly loved and admired by his family and community. His hard work ethic and sense of community will be admired and missed by all who knew him.
