1921-2023

Dot was born October 1, 1921 in Edmonton, Alberta to Christine and Roy Adam. While still a young child Dot and her parents moved to a farm approximately 4½ miles northwest of Didsbury. She walked across the fields to the Springside School where she got her schooling to Grade 9.

In 1943 she married Lloyd Kershaw and moved approximately 1 ½ miles across the fields to the Kershaw farm where she lived and worked for the next 55 years. In 1946, their only child, Marion was born. Dot was an active participant on the farm through the years. In 1989 Lloyd died and the last dairy cows went to the Auction Mart. Dot continued to live on the farm until 1998. Upon moving to Didsbury, Dot started to volunteer at the hospital, Meals on Wheels, and with the church thrift store. In 2004, she was awarded the Outstanding Senior Volunteer for the town of Didsbury. In 2019, she moved to the Chinook Winds Lodge in Carstairs where she remained until the spring of 2022 when she moved to the Bethany Care Centre in Didsbury.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Marion (Clifford) Scott, 1 grand daughter, Patricia (Stuart Lomas), 1 grandson, Murray (Karen) Scott, and 2 great granddaughters, Brittany (Rhett) and Natasha (Kole), and 1 great great grandson Colt Kenneth Bloomfield. Dot was predeceased by her parents, her husband and all of her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Zion Evangelical Missionary Church in Didsbury at 2 p.m. Wednesday January 11, 2023. The family would like to extend their gratitude to both the Chinook Winds Lodge and the Bethany Care Centre for the exceptional care given at both locations.
