1942 - 2020

It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Mrs. Carolyn Lloyd.  She passed away peacefully on December 18, 2020 at the age of 78 years, following complications from health issues.

Carolyn was born in Chatham Ontario. After marrying Barry and the blending of two families together in Ontario, Carolyn and Barry moved the family to Calgary in 1981 to start a new life together with their girls. It was here that Carolyn continued to build on her successful career in the travel industry, where she received countless awards and accolades for her exceptional service and client care. Carolyn and Barry’s love of travel took them far and wide throughout the world, where they made many friends and forged lasting relationships along the way.

Once retired, Carolyn and Barry settled in Innisfail, Alberta where they spent many happy hours at their cottage at Gleniffer Lake, and their home away from home in Mazatlan, Mexico. All who knew Carolyn, know that she was happiest with her feet in the ocean, beachcombing for shells. At home, Carolyn found peace in the serenity of her garden working with her flowers. Carolyn was fiercely proud of the continued growth and accomplishments of her seven grandchildren; and more recently was looking forward to watching her oldest granddaughter marry in August 2021.

Carolyn will be remembered for her loyalty to the love of her life Barry.  She loved to entertain, was an amazing cook who expressed her love to family and friends with her joy of cooking. Carolyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband Barry of 45 years, her children, Cheryl Argento, Candace Deibert (Glen), Kerilyn Wenzel (Kevin), and Christine Lloyd (Jeff).  She will remain in the hearts of her seven grandchildren, Mark and Frances Argento, Anna and Lauren Deibert, Caitlyn and Darren Wenzel, and Hailee McMillan. She is survived by her siblings, Marilyn Peltier, Robert (Bob) Huson, and Lynn Wraight, all of Chatham.

She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Evelyn Huson, and her first husband Gerald Hall. If desired, Memorial Donations in Carolyn’s honour may be made directly to The Salvation Army at Box 8200, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 4W5 or at salvationarmy.ca
