December 7, 1931 - January 13, 2021
Godfred Chris Lutz, or GC as he liked to be called, was born in Innisfail, Alberta on December 7, 1931. He entered his eternal home on January 13, 2021 at the age of 89.
GC grew up on the family homestead east of Innisfail and continued farming along with his brother, Leonard, until age 42 when the farm was sold.
During those years GC met the love of his life, Norma Scott, and they were married in 1953 and enjoyed 62 years together until Norma passed in 2015.
In 1973 GC began his own contracting business, constructing homes and other building projects in the Central Alberta area. This continued until his retirement, and he then reverted to his former love of farming by helping his son, Duane, farm in the Evansburg area.
He will be lovingly remembered by his four children and spouses: Judy (Ernie), Duane (Carolee), Steve, Teresa (Ethan) along with 11 grandchildren and spouses and 15 great grandchildren.
GC’s family will always remember him for his deep devotion to his Lord and Savior. He served his local church wherever he lived and supported other ministries such as bible camps and missions throughout the world.
The family sincerely appreciates the staff at Evansburg Good Samaritan Home and more recently the Hamlets in Red Deer for caring so compassionately for our Dad and grandpa.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made In Godfred’s name to Camp Silversides, Box 519, Bentley, AB T0C 0J0 in memory of GC Lutz.
