1938 – 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Donald ‘Don’ Mackenzie-Grieve on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at the age of 86 years.
Don lived all his life on the family farm west of Innisfail, Alberta. He loved the farm and all the work that came with it, especially gathering and splitting wood for his stove. In his early years he was an avid hunter and trapper.
In his later years he enjoyed golfing at the Bowden Golf Course. Don loved to visit and looked forward to homecare’s daily wellness checks, as well as neighbors popping by.
Don will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Allan Mackenzie-Grieve, and his sisters, Jean Rutschke, Phyllis (Fletch) Waldo, Joyce (Russ) Bowe, Linda (Lyle) Krause, and Sherry (Darryl) Butler, his brother-in-law, Lynn Averill, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, James and Thelma Mackenzie-Grieve, his five sisters, Mary (Henry) Husband, Agnes (Stew) Calkins, Gwen Mackenzie-Grieve, Sheila Averill, and Ruth Cole, and his brother-in-law, Lawrence Rutschke.
The family would like to thank Innisfail Home Care for their wonderful care of Don over the past year and a half.
In keeping with Don’s wishes, a Funeral Service will not be held.
