1933 – 2024
It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great Great Grandmother, Dorothy Clarice ‘Dot’ Martin, on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the age of 91 years.
Dot will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her wonderful cooking, beautiful gardens, and her sneaky and sometimes dangerous game playing. Dot leaves to cherish her memory and will be lovingly remembered by her loving husband of seventy-one years, Dave Martin, her six children, Jim (Rikki) Martin, Laurie (Penny) Martin, Janice (Steve) Kennedy, Sherri Martin, Mitchel (Lorelie) Martin, and Pat (Tracy) Martin, as well as her twenty-three grandchildren, her sixteen and a half great grandchildren, and her one great great grandchild. She will also be deeply missed by her sisters, Helen (Bill) Service, Laurie (Punch) Wells, Myrna (Frank) Wells, and Linda Levsen, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dot was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Mabel Smith, her brother, John Smith, and her sister, Carol (Larry) Myer, her brothers-in-law, Bill Service, Larry Myer and Frank Wells, her daughter-in-law, Penny Gwillim, and son-in-law, Steve Kennedy.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Rosefield Care Centre who cared for Dot during her time there.
A Celebration of Dot’s Life will be held at the Innisfail Public Library, 5300 – 55 Street Close, Innisfail, Alberta on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
