It is with great sadness we announce that, surrounded by his loving family, Marvin John Leonard McKechnie passed away in Calgary, AB on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the age of 60.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Morgan (Fred) and Jordan (Nick), brothers; Lawrence, Neil (Shelley), sister; Gena and Mom; Georgie; as well many numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. Marvin was predeceased by his father, Len.
Marvin bravely battled Metastatic Melanoma since 2013 and was always optimistic that he'd be with us for another 20 years!
Marvin was well known and respected in the Alternative Fuel industry; working and travelling across Canada, USA, India, Singapore, Mexico, Iran and other places. Marvin loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, golfing and gardening.
His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In Marvin's memory, donations to the Calgary Cancer Centre or the Dulcina Hospice would be appreciated. Our heartfelt thanks to the various medical, palliative and care teams who provided so much care to Marvin. We are so very grateful.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 12th, 2021, at 1:00pm at Choice Memorial (105 - 4715 - 13th Street NE, Calgary, Alberta T2E 6M3).
