July 12, 1939 – August 6, 2021
We are sad to announce the passing of Marjorie Molesky. Marj passed away peacefully on August 6, 2021 at the age of 82 years, with family by her side.
Marj was born July 12, 1939 to Alexander Findlay Clark and Dorothy Clark (nee Smith) and was raised on the original family homestead in Wapella, Saskatchewan with her brothers George and Barry.
Marj excelled in her studies at the local one-room school and became an accomplished pianist. In her early teens, Marj moved to Whitewood, Saskatchewan to live with her Uncle’s family during the week where she could complete high school. After high school, Marj enrolled in the Regina General Hospital’s School of Nursing where she graduated in the Class of 1960.
While working as a Public Health Nurse, Marj met Don Molesky in Strasbourg, Saskatchewan. Marj and Don married on April 13, 1966 and moved to Calgary. They were a fun-loving couple and made numerous friends through their social circles at the Calgary Winter Club and Silver Springs Golf & Country Club.
Marj’s annual birthday celebrations, which coincided with the Calgary Stampede, are fondly remembered by those who attended.
Marj was a valued contributor in the administration of Don’s survey business but as her children grew, Marj regained her RN certification and returned to nursing in Day Surgery at the Foothills Hospital.
In 1988, Marj and Don moved to their beautiful log home on the banks of the Red Deer River and Marj worked in Sundre for several years at a local medical clinic.
Marj loved to travel and retirement eventually beckoned. After several winters travelling with close friends to various sunny destinations, Marj and Don eventually settled in San José del Cabo, Mexico at their condominium in Misiones where they spent the winter months from 1996 on.
Marj is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 55 years, Don, her children Kathy Augustowich and Brent (Karen), grandchildren Lawsen Augustowich and Anya and Daniel Molesky, her brother Barry Clark and sister-in-law Julian Ross as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Alexander and Dorothy; brother George and sister-in-law Dianne Clark (nee Dunn).
A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the Royal Canadian Legion, 135 6 Street, Sundre from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Memorial tributes may be made directly to Sundre Hospital Futures Fund. https://www.sundrehospitalfutures.com/donate.html#donateform
