On September 5, 2024, Sheila Morgan (formerly Doyon) passed away. Sheila was born on November 5th in Carstairs, Alberta, and died on September 5, 2024, in Calgary, Alberta.
She is survived by her four children: Michele Buhler (David), Terri Sorensen (Ted), Glenys Kent (Peter) and Steven Morgan; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her siblings, Betty Clark (Clifford), Glenys Smith (Erhart Pinno) and Gwyn Morgan (Pat Trottier). Sheila was predeceased by her parents, Ieuan and Margaret Morgan, her first husband, Al Doyon and her second husband, Leon Girard.
Sheila grew up on a farm near Carstairs. She trained at the Calgary General Hospital School of Nursing, where she met and married Al Doyon. Sheila started one of the first home care programs in Alberta and was nominated Nurse of the Year in 1975. In her later years, Sheila married Leon Girard.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Carstairs Cemetery on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 1:30 pm, followed by a celebration of life at 2:30 pm at the Carstairs Half Century Club (1139 Osler Street).
