Helen passed away Feb 28,2023 in Sundre at age 98.
She was born to Fred and Annie Lobley on July 19, 1924, in Olds, Alberta. She lived and grew up in Lobley, west of Sundre.
She was predeceased by twin sister Joan Stowe (Fred Lobley of Barrhead AB), and brothers Jack Richard (Katherine Blackhurst) and James Ralph (Susan Folland) of Sundre.
Helen, as a young women moved to Olds and worked at the Public Lunch and the Post Office. She met and married David Robertson Mowatt and they moved to a farm in the Eagle Hill district where they always had a border collie dog, raised Hereford Cattle and pigs.
In 1987, Dave passed away at age 77. She then moved to Olds and bought a house and fulfilled her dream of travelling by taking many bus trips to interesting destinations. Her favourite trip was a bus trip to New Zealand. She also enjoyed driving herself on trips out and about.
Helen in the last few years due to health issues was in the Foothills Lodge in Sundre, where she was loved and taken care of by the staff. Here, she was still able to get out, go for lunches and little trips due to her caretakers from Retire at Home and Comfort Keepers.
She is survived by her many nieces and nephews. At her request no funeral will be held but friends and family are asked to keep her in their memory. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.heartlandfuneralservices.com
