Glenn Alexander Nelson was born in Didsbury, Alberta on April 26, 1961, to Bruce and Vera Nelson. He grew up in and continued to live on the family's farm west of Didsbury.
Glenn passed away at Olds Hospital on September 8, 2024, shortly after being diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. He was 63 years old. His whole life he participated on the farm. He worked as a custodian for Chinook's Edge School Division for a few years, then at the Old's College for 25 years.
Glenn enjoyed teaching his way of doing things. It did not matter who you were, if you were someone walking by or a childhood friend, he would offer to help. He was very kind and always willing to help anyone. His favorite was teaching children. He was a part of Scouts Canada for years, as a leader going to PEI for a Canadian Jamboree and many winter camping trips. He enjoyed building Quincey's for the kids to play in.
He enjoyed helping people fix their vehicles and became really good at building honda CRV's. Glenn enjoyed the calmness of the forest and spending time there with his grandkids. Collecting firewood was a favorite job of his, also running the Heston stacker to collect winter feed.
Glenn's Memorial / Celebration of Life will be held on October 5th, 2024 @ 1:00PM at New Hope Church in Olds, Alberta.
