April 12, 1956 – January 09, 2021
Keith passed peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Saturday, January 9, 2021. He always was a morning person, still getting up early many years after he no longer needed to, so it seems a fitting time for him to leave us.
Keith leaves behind his wife Judy of 35 years; his daughter Jewel, his son Jason, his daughter-in-law Alanna and granddaughter Adelynn. As one of ten siblings Keith leaves behind many of his siblings; Geraldine Thompson (Frank), Ralph Phillips (Elaine), Darlene Pearce (Garry), Judy Lambden (Al), Don Phillips (Glenda), Karen Young (Allan), Carol Peterson, Kevin Phillips (Tammy) and their respective families, as well as his predeceased brother Raymond’s children & their families; brother-in-law Dale Switzer, sisters-in-law Debbie Andersen (John), Linda Kelly (Tim) and their respective families. As well as the many colleagues & friends whose lives have crossed paths with Keith throughout the years.
Keith worked hard and played hard throughout his life, until various health issues slowed him down. Much of his work life was spent as the proud owner/operator of Keith Phillips Trucking. He also worked with his Father & brothers under Carman Phillips Trucking Ltd and in later years managed the Company. When Keith was no longer trucking, he stayed close to his roots by working in auto parts, first in Sundre at Sundre Truck Parts and then Napa Auto Parts in Cochrane.
In his younger days, Keith loved to snowmobile in the backcountry with friends & family and spent summers riding his Harley Davidson. He also enjoyed travelling to Hawaii with Judy, where they spent time on the islands of Maui and Kauai.
Keith was predeceased by his parents Carman & Florence Phillips, in-laws Doug & Ethel Switzer; brother Raymond Phillips, sister-in-law Dolores Phillips and Fern Phillips, brother-in-law Ron Peterson, nephew Russel Phillips and niece Garalene Groshko.
Considering current health restrictions, the decision has been made to hold a service at a later date to be determined, when the weather is warmer, and people can gather.
