Ruth Cecile (James) Rice passed away in Calgary, AB, December 2, 2022 at the age of 74 following a lengthy illness.
Cecile is the daughter of Gordon and Edith (Latimer) James, she was very proud to say she grew up on the family farm in the Betchton area that is now run by her brother Pat James and family.
She lived a happy life surrounded by many who loved her including her partner Gloria, her son Stuart, his wife Jo, her daughter LoAnne, and 3 granddaughters Angie, Christine, and Melissa. She was blessed with 2 great granddaughters Aleena and Nova.
She was a lifelong lover of animals, specifically cats, and spent a great many hours volunteering at the MEOW Foundation in Calgary. Her cookies were legendary and were an exceptional hit at the 100 year party for the family farm in 2008. Her laughter and sense of humor will be missed but are sure to bring a smile to our faces as we remember her.
