Rodger Arthur Scott passed away with his family close by on January 9, 2020 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Rodger was born on May 8, 1943 in Banff, AB to William Arthur Scott and Alberta Mary Pierce. He is survived by his wife Audrey Scott, his children Allan Scott (Yukiko), Susan Longley (Russ), Kevin Nault, Robert Scott (Amanda), Leah Nault (David), and Ryan Nault (Amber).
Rodger was an incredible Grandfather to 12 beautiful grandchildren: Anastasia, Cory, Riley, Nicholas, Mia, Momoka, Alexander, Victoria, Carson, Scarlett, Elissa, and Cynthia.
He is also survived by his first wife Sonja Scott, brother Larry Scott (Jacquie) and his nieces Angela Barkley, Bonnie Vigue and their families.
Rodger proudly worked for many years in the Oil & Gas industry in and around the Olds and Sundre areas. He started his career with Amerada Hess and subsequently with Petro Canada and then Suncor retiring in 2013. He was known as an avid golfer and was a member of the Sundre Golf Club and the Carstairs Golf Club where at the later, he was active on the Board of Directors and served as Club President from 1993 to 1995. He loved his Calgary Flames and Stampeders and was always ready to engage in a discussion or make a small wager in support of his team with anyone who might not agree. He rarely missed a game.

It is with profound sadness that because of current health restrictions, there will be not be a public celebration in honour of Rodger’s life. He will be interned at the Mountain View Cemetery in Banff, AB with a small private family service. Memorial donations can be made to the Central Alberta Cancer Center in Red Deer, AB.
