Trudy was always pushing forward. She was born on a remote western Alberta farm but was always a city girl at heart.
Trudy's wanderlust began early when she moved to Red Deer for school at the age of 15; then to Calgary, and on to the US, primarily San Francisco, before returning to Olds. She married Les Sorenson Sr. in 1964 and soon after became the proud mother of 2 children, Leslie and Laureen.
She was always trying something new, from assisting at the elementary school when her children were young, to bookkeeping and accounting, to home clothing and jewelry sales, raspberry farming, and real estate.
While Trudy remained in Olds most of her life, after her children were grown, Trudy had the opportunity to explore the world and she spent many happy years enjoying travel to all parts of the globe.
Trudy is survived by her son, Leslie Sorenson, and daughter, Laureen Martin, both of Calgary, as well as numerous cousins.
Trudy wished to have her ashes interred with her parents at the Kevisville Cemetery. A small family gathering will be held in the spring.
You lived a great life, Mom. In doing so, you helped us to forge our own amazing lives. You are missed already; you will always be missed.
In lieu of flowers and condolences please smile at a stranger and a friend, and lend a helping hand wherever you can. Donations can also be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. Photos, memories, and tributes may be shared at www.evanjstrong.com.
