1928 - 2025
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of William (Bill) Stevenett on Saturday February 7th, 2025.
Bill was a lifelong resident of the Antler Hill District, born Sept 14, 1928 to Frank and Hazel Stevenett. He attended Antler Hill School till grade 9 then transferred to Red Deer High School to finish his schooling. After working away several year's, he met Maureen Craig. They married Dec 26 of 1959 and pursued a farming career.
Following in his father's footsteps, Bill felt a need to serve his community, which included 28 years on the board of directors with Crossroads Gas Co-op, and several years serving on boards with the Red Deer Regional and Innisfail hospitals. Besides all this, he also drove school bus, did carpentry work, worked at the Auction Mart and the Gulf Service station in Innisfail.
His biggest passion in life was his music, and over the years, he played with numerous groups. He enjoyed playing clarinet, then later took up the saxophone, which he still played right up to his passing.
Bill and Maureen did extensive travelling, camping and snowmobiling with friends and family. Many trips included the Yukon, most of Alberta and everything between Campbell River and St John's.
Bill was predeceased by his sister Gladys, parents Frank and Hazel and son Craig. He is survived by his wife Maureen, son Todd (Laurie Anne), daughter in-law Linda, 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, 2 step grandsons and numerous niece's and nephews.
Bill left quite a legacy and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. If you wish, a donation to STARS Foundation can be made in Bills memory.
The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Innisfail hospital for the care Bill received.
A celebration of Bills life will be held on, Thursday Feb 20th at 2pm, Antler Hill Community Hall.
