1940-2025
Shirley Marie Thomas of Olds, AB., born September 7, 1940, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Olds Auxiliary Hospital on March 1, 2025, at the age of 84 years of age.
She lived most of her adult life in Olds when she married her husband Wayne on September 15, 1961. Shirley and Wayne moved to Olds to begin their long life together welcoming their son Randy on Dec. 15, 1961, and daughter Janell on July 5, 1963. They made many lifelong friends in Olds and although they lived in a few different places they always remained in town.
Shirley had many friends whom she thought of as family and all of their kids were thought of as her own. Shirley was loved dearly and will be sorely missed by so many. The world has lost a precious being but gained an amazing angel.
Shirley is survived by her daughter Janell (Allen), grandson Tyler. great-granddaughter Nicole, daughter-in-law Denise, sister Wendy and sister-in-law Donna as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Wayne, son Randy (Bucky), as well as her family members- parents John and Ethel, brother Joe, brother-in-law Scott and nephew Jordie. She was also predeceased by her Thomas family in-laws including father/mother-in-law Lloyd and Viola, brother/sister-in-law Grant and Yvonne, Peggy and Winston, Yvonne and Hugh, Larry and Carol, Rick, niece Fay and nephew Kevin.
There will be no funeral service as per Shirley’s request. West View Funeral Services were entrusted with Shirley’s final requests and wishes.
